Whether your little one has never skated before or already loves sliding around on the ice, the Granatier Sportsplex U5 Hockey Program is the perfect place to start their hockey journey with confidence and excitement! Our program is designed to blend fun, fundamental skill development, and positive team experiences in a supportive environment!

We’ve expanded our schedule to make it easier for busy families to join the fun, pick the day that works best for you! We offer both a Saturday & Sunday division so you can choose what works best for you!

Your U5 Hockey Journey | What to Expect
A FUN, SUPPORTIVE PROGRAM FOR FIRST-TIME PLAYERS
This isn’t about competition! It’s about building confidence, movement, and a love for hockey. Even if your child has never been on skates, our program creates a welcoming space where every player feels encouraged to try, laugh, and learn.
What makes our program special:

🏒 Activities focused on balance, coordination, skating, and puck skills

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS
(Total may vary slightly year-to-year.)
- Approximately 25 Ice Times — lots of chances to grow and play
- 15 Practice Sessions (50 min each)
- 10 Hybrid Practice/Game Sessions (30 min practice + 30 min small-ice game format)
All participants receive:
Starter kit (water bottle, hockey tape, socks)
Special Christmas gift
Year-end trophy, because every little hockey hero deserves one!

THE stepping stone for your hockey journey
The Granatier U5 Hockey Program is the start of a long journey into minor hockey. All participants in our U5 Program enter into Saskatoon Minor Hockey’s stream ahead of the competition and ready to excel! For more info on Saskatoon Minor Hockey please click on their logo.
