Hockey Skill Development (Sunday)
Jan 04 - Mar 08 • Every Sunday for 10 Weeks/Sessions Total
Core Skill Development Program — designed for U7 & U9 players, or older athletes new to hockey or needing fundamental improvement. This program focuses on the three essential pillars of hockey success: skating, passing, and shooting. Skating — the most critical skill for young players — is the primary focus of each session. As the group’s skill level allows, we integrate age-appropriate passing and shooting instruction to round out the core fundamentals. Whether your player is just starting out or looking to solidify their base skills, this program creates the right environment for growth, confidence, and long-term development.
Advanced Skill Development Program — designed for U11 & U13 players who have or are playing at a Tier 2 (A) or higher, or graduates of our Core Skill Development Program. This program builds on the essential hockey pillars — skating, passing, and shooting — by introducing more advanced techniques in each area. Athletes will refine their skating stride, edge control, transitions, and agility, while adding puck handling and shooting skills that are essential at higher levels of play. In addition to technical development, players will be challenged with game-like scenarios and situational drills that help translate skills into real on-ice performance.
*IF YOUR CHILD DOES NOT MEET THE EXPECTED SKILL REQUIREMENTS OF THE PROGRAM YOU REGISTER THEM IN, GRANATIER SPORTSPLEX RESERVES THE RIGHT TO MOVE THEM TO THE PROGRAM THAT WILL ALLOW THEM TO DEVELOP BEST*
